The team tracks a shipment of opium from Southeast Asia to France in an effort to gain sufficient evidence against a grower before a fateful confrontation at a drop-off location in the United States on NBC Universal's "AIRWOLF II" episode entitled "The Poppy Chain." The story was written by Chris Haddock and directed by Ken Jubenvill.
Mike meets with Curtis, the Number One supplier of raw opium in the world, deep in the hill country of Laos.
He manages to take pictures of Curtis who was St. John's commander in Vietnam. Mike meets St. John in Singapore and gives him the film then travels by boat to Marseilles.
There he is met by Curtis' man who takes the opium and shoots Mike in the chest.
Mike lets Jason know the bullet-proof vest worked. They follow Curtis's man to the lab where Jo is working as an assistant processing the drug into morphine.
St. John enters as a buyer and our group prepares for the final performance. Interpol is given the names and license plate numbers of the players and soon all are arrested.
Jason gets word that Curtis escaped arrest - and that the three major buyers arrived in New York. St. John and Jason meet to sell the drug - and St. John is shocked to see Curtis.
He hates the man for transforming his army friends into junkies. Curtis takes the drug shipment but refuses to pay when word is received that their operation was shut down overseas.
Curtis runs - but not before St. John reminds him of Vietnam. Airwolf successfully disables the compound.
Meanwhile, St. John goes in pursuit of Curtis who eventually loses control of his car which crashes and kills him.
