When a corrupt general in a small republic disappears with millions of dollars in U.S. aid funds, the team attempts to track him down on NBC Universal's "AIRWOLF II" episode entitled "Storm Warning." The story was written by Michael Mercer and directed by Brad Turner.
Jack Paley, a dear friend of St. John, infiltrated the camp of the disposed General Butarra who skimmed $300 million of U.S. aid and transformed the dollars into diamonds.
St. John, Mike and Jason try to save Jack from Butarra but arrive too late and discover he died from a severe beating.
St. John finds a medallion with the image of a butterfly in his friend's hand. Jason and Jo continue searching for the missing diamonds while St. John visits Adrian and Renee, Jack's father and sister - who run a resort on an island near Washington State.
When they arrive, they are met at gunpoint by Butarra and his henchmen, Colenso and Valdez. Butarra demands they turn over the diamonds and St. John agrees to take him to where Jack hid the treasure.
Meanwhile, Jason and Jo learn that Butarra's helicopter was abandoned near Washington State which is suffering a severe storm. St. John lures Valdez near the ocean and after a struggle, Valdez is washed out to sea.
He manages to contact the Coast Guard and is patched in to Airwolf. He returns to the lodge and cuts the power.
Meanwhile, Butarra sends Colenso out into the storm. St. John kills Colenso and enters the lodge. After a fight, Butarra is shot dead by Jason.
As Butarra hits the butterfly display -- it shatters and the diamonds pour out.
