When a group of radical anti-war pacifists gain control of twenty nuclear missiles and threatens to unleash their destructive power to force total disarmament, the Airwolf team attempts to neutralize their seemingly unstoppable plan on NBC Universal's "AIRWOLF II" episode entitled "The Key." The story was written by Rick Drew and directed by J. Barry.

Dr. Lawrence Badham, a brilliant Oxford scholar is sponsored by a radical anti-war group known as the Cypress Party. They take control of 20 nuclear missile silos - ten in the United States and ten in the Soviet Union. The sites have been activated to a pre-launch mode and are set to fire on New Year's eve unless all nuclear weapons worldwide are disabled. Jo informs General Harrisburg that Mike Rivers has infiltrated the group in hopes of connecting their computer with Airwolf to over-ride any commands. Unfortunately, Mike is caught by Dr. Badham, and his assistant Angus, a giant-like man with a child's mind. When Mike is seriously injured after a fall - Dr. Badham wants to pull out of the arrangement, yet Pervis, the head of the group kills the doctor. St. John and Airwolf attack the head-quarters and retrieve Mike who is in a coma. Once he regains consciousness, however, he cannot remember any of the codes to deactivate the launch pattern and our group helps him regain his memory. They travel back to the building and Mike questions Angus. He discovers Badham's book which lists storybook titles - the last entry is Jack And The Beanstalk. He punches the title into the computer and the silo listing appears. They immediately deactivate the missiles - however, one is launched and fired. Mike and St. John take Airwolf into the stratosphere and destroy the missile by laser beam before it can return to earth. They return to wish Jo and Locke a Happy New Year!
