ADVERTISEMENTS
An enormous eruption of a long-dormant volcano forces Hawke and Santini, who have just completed a mission, to land near a small town which seems to be under a spell in NBC Universal’s "AIRWOLF" episode entitled "Eruption." This segment was written by Kevin Hartigan and T.S. Cook and was directed by Sidney Hayers.

Mount Catherine is a long-dormant volcano in the Northwest, which is precisely the area in which Hawke and Santini have just completed a helicopter-borne scientific mission. They had to collect samples of gas emanating from vents along-the slopes of the volcano. Suddenly, and without much warning, the mountain explodes, with incredible force, and thick, choking dust clouds. The zero visibility prompts their decision to do an emergency landing near a small mining town. The town's matriarch is Amelia Davenport who comes in to visit the tragedy-stricken area. It is obvious that many unpleasant things are going on without her knowledge, instigated by two men, Cove and Crammins, who terrorize the town people and keep them in a state of fright by intimidating everyone. Hawke and Santini confront them and force important issues to the surface, which ultimately change the people's lives and help restore peace and well-being.
