In the search for an antidote to a deadly virus, Hawke and Caitlin are forced into an uneasy alliance with a Russian military team on an island in NBC Universal’s "AIRWOLF" episode entitled "Condemned." The episode was written by Douglas Steinberg and directed by Tom Blank.
With the aid of videotape, Archangel is briefing Hawke on a very serious aspect of the Russia-Afghanistan conflict.
What they see on the TV screen is appalling. Whatever is causing large numbers of guerillas to die seems to be biological in nature -- maybe a powerful microorganism.
It is colorless, odorless, and it is deadly!
An agent in Kabul, working for the U.S., has obtained a vial of the lethal virus.
Now our scientists have created similar conditions in a super-secret lab on an island in the Aleutians, and they are trying desperately to find an antidote.
Four men have been sent to the lab installation, but they have not been heard from.
Archangel feels that the disease is spreading throughout the Afghanistan countryside out of control, and the Russians probably want the antidote as much as the U.S.A.
Airwolf, Hawke, and Caitlin are dispatched to the island lab to find clues leading to the cure of the deadly plague.
Upon their approach, they find the scenario silent and eerie. Dead bodies of doctors and scientists indicate violent death -- they killed each other.
Horrible blotches are covering the bodies, the same type of lesions that killed the guerilla fighters in Afghanistan.
When Hawke and Caitlin finally meet the Russian team, they have no other choice but to search for the antivirus together.
Just in time they find the secret lab and the antidote, but there are other perils to overcome before they can fly home.
