Sam Kasai, the owner and operator of an air charter service, asked Hawke and Santini to photograph an area of desert land, and doing just that they place themselves into a very dangerous situation on NBC Universal’s "AIRWOLF" episode entitled "Random Target." The segment was directed by Virgil Vogel, the story written by Herman Groves, and the teleplay written by Paul Savage.
Sam Kowal operates an air charter service not far from the Santini location.
Sam has another assignment and is asking Hawke and Santini to fly an aerial survey for him in one of Kowal's choppers.
The copter is gassed up, the camera mounted and loaded ready to go, but Hawke doesn't want the job.
In the meantime, on a deserted airstrip an executive Lear jet has landed under tight security and its passenger boards a waiting limousine.
Langhorn is coming out of hiding and is attending a syndicate meeting held at the plush, isolated desert estate belonging to a former congressman, now a powerful attorney.
Reluctantly Hawke and Santini have started on the desert survey job. Once completed, the film is taken to the lab for processing. Unknown to Hawke and Santini, they had flown over the desert estate, Langborn saw the camera mounted on the Kowal chopper, and he wants the film footage no matter what the consequences.
In the process of tracking down the film, Langhorn's men blow up a jeep driven by a woman collecting rocks, killing her.
Sam Kowal is killed, his office is demolished, Santini Air location is ransacked and Caitlin is hit over the head by an intruder looking for something.
Hawke soon realizes that Sam Kowal and the mock collector were not random targets, and that all these acts of violence and destruction are tied together -- but how?
With Airwolf's help, String and Dom get the answer, and it is all connected to the syndicate meeting in the isolated villa out there in the desert.
